Frequent Asked Questions and Answers about the B.I.O.R.C.
What is the full name of the B.I.O.R.C.?
Ba Iset Orde (of the) Rubae Crucis--Ba Iset Order of the Rosy Cross--The Heart of Isis Order of the Rosy Cross.
Is the B.I.O.R.C. a Golden Dawn Order?
Yes and no. Yes--in the sense that we use published and unpublished Golden Dawn material and rituals in our course. No--in the sense that we have not filed for use of the trademarked name “Hermetic Golden Dawn.” We are not of the same lineage as any of the groups claiming to be descendents of the original Order, hence there is no need to apply for use of the trademark.
How can I contact the B.I.O.R.C.?
You can email the Chief of the Order at basttemple@msn.com. You can also contact the Order though the Archive Officer by writing to M.D. Eckstein, 2727 Cook St. Denver, CO 80205.
What are the qualifications for Temple membership?
The first requirement for Temple membership is to actually live within reasonable travel distance of the Mother Lodge located in Denver, Colorado. The second requirement is to be able to get along with the active membership of the Mother Lodge. Persons meeting the first requirement can arrange for a meeting with some of the members to determine if they meet the conditions of the second.
What are the qualifications for correspondence membership?
You must be willing to study the course material and do the assigned work.
Can I get initiated in Temple as a correspondence member?
Yes, but it requires the willingness to travel to the Mother Lodge during one of our conventions. One is also required to be in good standing with their dues and course work.
Are there currently any plans to open B.I.O.R.C. anywhere else other than Denver, Colorado?
Not presently, but that could change in the future. How much does it cost for a correspondence membership?
The current membership fee to participate in the correspondence course is $xxx for members inside the United States. The preferred method of payment is though Paypal (basttemple@msn.com); checks and money orders can be made out to E.M. Eckstein and sent in care of the Archive Officer.
The monthly packs of the correspondence material can also be brought though Morgan Drake Eckstein (the author of the correspondence course) though Lulu (lulu.com/morgandrake)--those who buy the material though Lulu are not considered members of the Order, and are not eligible to apply for Temple initiations or to get help with the coursework. The monthly packs will start becoming available spring 2010.
