The Five Additional Days of the Year
The great ones are born. As to the great ones whose forms are not mysterious, beware of them…Birth of Osiris, Birth of [Elder] Horus, Birth of Seth, Birth of Isis, Birth of Nephthys. Anyone who knows the names of the five additional days shall not be hungry, shall not be thirsty. Bastet shall not overpower him. He will not enter into the great law court, he will not die through an enemy of the king and will not die through the pestilence of the year. He will last every day till death arrives, no illness will take possession of him. As to he who knows the names of the five additional days, he shall be prosperous. His speech shall be important, heard in the presence of Re.

First Day
Birth of Osiris
Words to be said:
O Osirius, bull in his cavern whose name is hidden….Hail to thee, I am thy son, O father Osiris. The name of this day is The Pure One….
July 28
Second Day
Birth of [Elder] Horus
Words to be said:
O Horus of Letopolis….The name of this day is Powerful is the Heart.
July 29
Third Day
Birth of Seth [Set]
Words to be said:
O Seth, son of Nut, great of strength…protection is at the hands of thy holiness. I am thy son. The name of this day is Powerful of Heart.
July 30
Fourth Day
Birth of Isis
Words to be said:
O this Isis, daughter of Nut, the eldest, mistress of magic, provider of the book, mistress who appeases the two lords, her face is glorious. I am the brother and the sister. The name of this day is He Who Makes Terror.
July 31
Fifth Day
Birth of Nephthys
Words to said:
O Nephthys, daughter of Nut, sister of Seth, she whose father sees a healthy daughter….I am the divine power in the womb of my mother Nut. The name of this day is the Child Who is in his Nest.
Words to be spoken at the end of the five additional days:
Hail to you! O great ones according to their names, children of a goddess who have come forth from the sacred womb, lords by virtue of their father, goddesses by virtue of their mother, who do not know the necropolis. Behold, may you protect me and save me. May you make me prosperous and protect me. I am one who is on their list.---This spell is to be said four times.
Make yourself an amulet for protection to be worn about the neck for the additional five days in the names of these gods. Have the figures of Osiris, Horus, Seth, Isis, and Nephthys drawn on linen.
